As we discussed in class, the exam will be a take-home exam. It will
be available on March 5th. It is due on March 24th. It is a
timed exam. The ground rules are as follows:
- You are on the honor system to follow the rules for this
exam in good faith.
- You will have a maximum of 90 minutes plus a 15 minute
grace period to complete the entire exam. The clock starts
when you download the exam. In other words, once you download
and open the exam, you have 90 (plus 15) minutes to complete it.
- You should record your starting time and stopping time.
- You must attest that the work you present on the exam
is entirely your own--no outside help and no consulting of
sources other than what's described in the directions on the
exam itself.
The exam will cover the following topics.
- PHP programming language concepts up through arrays (Chapter 6).
- Open source topics covered in the readings and class discussions.
Take Home Exam 1
NOTE: You should not download the exam until you are ready to begin taking it.
It contains two parts, an essay part (50 points) in which you will have to answer three
essay questions, and a PHP part (50 points) in which you will have 8 problems, some
worth 4 points each and some worth 10 points each.
The exam is a plain text file. I would appreciate receiving your answers
as a text file--NOT a Microsoft word file.
After you download the exam you have 90 minutes to complete it. Please
put your name and starting time on it and "sign" the statement that attests
you are following the rules and not cheating.
Here it is: exam1.txt.
Enjoy!
