This year, Trinity sent two teams, Trinity Blue and Trinity Gold, to the Northeast Regional Preliminary Competition of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, held at Western New England College in Springfield, Massachusetts, on October 13, 2001. Trinity Blue consisted of Jeremy Freeman, Dragan Levic, and Stuart Smith. Trinity Gold consisted of Bozidar Marinkovic, Nhon Trinh, and Adam Williams. The contest consisted of seven problems to be solved in five hours. The three teams solving the most problems in the least amount of time advanced to the next round. Trinity Blue solved two problems successfully, and Trinity Gold solved three problems successfully. Trinity Gold was the 9th best team out of the 18 teams competed. The winner was MIT, followed by Harvard University and Universite Laval. For our young teams, where everyone was a first-time contestant, the results were very encouraging.
Congratulations!
