CS Principles
This activity addresses the idea that computing is a creative activity
and focuses on the following learning objectives:
- IAI: The student can use computing tools and techniques to create artifacts.
- IB3: The student can use computing tools and techniques for creative expression.
- IC4: The student can use programming as a creative tool.
Preliminaries
This lesson assumes you have completed the first homework assignment,
HW: Setting Up and Creating a First App.
Hello Purr Tutorial
The Hello Purr Tutorial
is the App Inventor version Hello World, the traditional first-program used in introducing a programming language.
We will work through online the tutorial in class.
Hands-On
If you have set up your laptop for App Inventor, you can follow along on your laptop. Otherwise
you can login to a lab workstation and follow along. If you are unable to follow along in class,
you should complete the Hello Purr tutorial for homework.
